After playing in the waves for quite a while, we walked down the beach to some rocks with great tide pools. The kids found a natural jacuzzi, crabs, fish, and shells galore. The flat, wet sand reflected the sky, clouds, and jungle like a mirror, and it felt like I was lost in time and space.
We don't have a place to live, and we didn't do any looking today. But I'm okay with that. After panicking last night, I'm back in a space of knowing that things are going to be okay. Unlike the Israelites in the desert, I know the end of their story. And I can trust that same God today. "See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared" (Exodus 23:20).
Not every day will be easy, but every day will be good. Reality exists, but today was beautiful.
